In 2008 the Department of Interior designated five sections of the Cemetery on the National Register of Historic Places. The Cemetery honors loved ones and is a place of reverence, reflection, history and continuity that establishes a legacy that spans the past, present and future. For many years Crown Hill has invited people to frequently visit to experience the beauty and serenity found within the gates.
The Tower of Memories, a historic landmark of Denver since 1987 rises 158 feet tall above the Cemetery, is nearly a century old and is home to crypts and niches for cremated remains. Breaking ground in 1926, this towering tomb, donned a hefty $1 million price tag. It is a modernist granite structure that features a chapel with red glass windows and more than 40 artistic stained glass windows and numerous crystal chandeliers scattered throughout the building.
